Fashion & Beauty Trends: Spring/Summer 2024

As we transition into spring and summer, we are seeing a shift in some of the fashion/beauty trends. Here are 5 of the hottest trends that you might want to try out for yourself, starting off strong with "a pop of blue"!

1. A Pop of Blue

Blue eye makeup looks are on the rise. Here are some ways to embrace the trend:

60's Inspired: First, is the classic 60’s blue eye look using a bright and true blue eyeshadow. Although typically done as a matte look, you can also layer a metallic or shimmery blue on top.

Everyday Shimmer: Second, a more wearable approach you can take for everyday makeup is to add a sheer blue shimmer to the eyes. A palette that I love for metallics and shimmers is the Makeup by Mario Master Metals Eyeshadow Palette. The silver shade is buildable and has a blue look to it that can be lightly brushed on the eyes for the perfect hint of shimmery light blue. 

Frosty 90's Eye: Another version is a frosty 90’s eye look. A cool tone, light, icy blue eye look was an “it girl” look of the 90’s, are we here for it to come back?

2. From Slick Backs to Big Hair 

As we are seeing the “clean girl” trend transition out, there has been a rise in the popularity of carefree, big hair that is perfect for spring and summertime.

Embrace this trend with voluminous hair, big curls, and creating lift in the roots with the use of hair rollers and styling technique. 

3. Color Trend - Peach

Pastels are the colors of spring, so no surprise here, but specifically shades of peach were prominent on runways and, not to mention, is Pantone's color of the year for 2024.

Embrace the trend by using it as inspiration for picking accessories, shoes, and nail colors. 

4. Subtle Sparkle & Metallics

A somewhat more subtle way adding to an outfit is through metallics or a shimmer of the fabric itself. If sequins and rhinestones are not your cup of tea, this might be a good alternative to play around with.

Embrace the trend with accessories like metallic bags, phone cases, and chrome nails.

5. Shimmer Lip Balms

This trend ties into the last one with its subtle shimmer, but I definitely feel that it is deserving of its own spot on the list.

Brands such as Rhode and Summer Fridays have been taking the beauty community by storm with their beautiful lip products and recently have both had limited edition drops of a shimmery baby pink shade. This Y2K lip might just be a staple this upcoming spring and summer.

Embrace the trend with any shimmery pink lip gloss or lip balm.
