The rumors are true. The thrift and vintage shops in Madrid are a must-see if you are ever stopping by. Keep reading to find my favorite store, summer thrift finds, and tips for finding hidden gems in any city.

MUST-SEE STORE

When wandering around the Malasaña neighborhood of Madrid, there were a few vintage shops that my friends and I looked around in. Note: this is a great neighborhood to visit if you want to explore several shops within a short distance of each other.

The last store we walked into ended up being my personal favorite- so good, that later in the week I visited their second location. This store is Siloam Vintage. There were so many quality and unique pieces in each location. Their instagram is @siloamvintage if you want to visit their page.

ABOUT EACH PIECE

  1. Burberry Blouse: During my first stop at Siloam Vintage’s Malasaña location, I found this olive green Burberry blouse.

2. Liberto Leather Dress: The second find was a leather zip-up dress with teal accents, which I later discovered that I had tried on backwards at the store. Luckily, I loved it both ways!

After success at the first location, I decided to check out their other store. This time, I had my mind set on finding some jackets.

In the end, I walked away with two jackets that I am excited to style this upcoming fall and winter.

3. Columbia Jacket: The first jacket was a Columbia Youth Jacket in a bright red color

4. Cruyff Jacket: The second jacket was a yellow and navy Cruyff jacket that I especially love because of its fun and unique color.

3 TIPS FOR THRIFTING IN ANY CITY

My biggest pieces of advice is to pick up both pieces that you like and the ones that you are unsure of to try-on. On and off the hanger the clothes can look completely different and it can be fun to experiment with different styles

Along with that, take your time looking and trying on. I would recommend going when you are not in a rush to give yourself time to really look.

Lastly, after trying-on, leave the pieces that you didn’t fall in love with. Keep what fits well and that you know you will wear.
